Hello, I’m Jack Quint!
My mission is to educate others on the proper principles of fitness and nutrition, providing individuals with practical, scientific-based strategies that they can incorporate into their busy lives, and help them truly get the results that they deserve.
A recent graduate from the University of Maryland (my home state), I am currently a Master’s student in the Exercise Science program at the University of South Florida down in Tampa. My coursework is tailored to learning the science and application of strength and conditioning, sports nutrition, and exercise physiology. In addition to my studies, I’ll be working as a research assistant under Dr. Bill Campbell in his Performance & Physique Science Lab, where we do a lot of cool research related to the impact of diet and exercise on body composition. I am also currently working as a personal trainer for USF’s Campus Recreation, where I have the honor of working for an incredible fitness staff and serving the on-campus population.
My fitness journey began my Freshman year of college, when my roommate suggested we start going to our campus gym. Growing up, I had always been extremely active by playing a variety of different sports, but I had never invested any serious time into the weight room. I decided to make that first leap and join him, marking then what would turn out to be a life-changing decision.
I was a skinny kid who had absolutely no knowledge about lifting weights or proper nutrition, but I gradually became more and more interested in practical, scientific-based principles for strength training and a solid nutritional protocol. After over a year of progression on a solid weight training program, combined with adopting flexible dieting into my lifestyle, I started to see tremendous progress in the gym and with my physique, and quickly I began to fall in love with the entire sport.
After seeing the results from my own transformation, I started to help my close friends and family members with their own health goals. I became inspired watching my loved ones find success with the knowledge I provided them, sparking a desire to impact individuals in the same manner across the world. In December 2017, I became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, taking my first step in sharing my knowledge in a professional setting. The following year, concluding in November 2018, I made the decision to expand my knowledge on sports nutrition by receiving my nutrition coaching certification through Precision Nutrition. In August of 2019, I earned my certification as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Upon graduating from USF, I hope to pursue a career combining the blend of academic research and working with clients to help them reach their fitness goals. My goal is to pursue a PhD in exercise and/or nutritional sciences, or go back to school for a second Master’s degree in Nutrition in order to become a registered dietician (RD).
In my free time, I love lifting weights, reading books (mostly related to fitness, business and personal development), traveling the world, and spending time with my family/friends.
